I DO LIVE.

SO long time no see...

It's been a pretty crazy semester, I'm working 18 hours and going to school for 15 and I almost don't have time to breathe. BUT......

I'm freaking loving my illustration intro classes. I'm learning so much more than I ever did while in animation, and it's so great.

Without further ado, here are some projects I'm doing for a class. I'm very pleased with how they came out.

Moving On.

So, it didn't happen.

I suppose I should have made a blog post about this MONTHS ago buuuuut... I forgot? But yeah, animation didn't happen, so HERE'S HOPING for illustration. Yep, that's the plan now, going to apply for illustration in November.

I've been trying to draw but, with work being busy and trying to pack to move, there really hasn't been a lot of time. I have done some stuff though, so here we go.

Baby Moony/Remus Lupin as a baby werewolf. I thought the concept was cute.

Repo! Pokemon in Tights

(Also known as Taylor Draws Strange Things like Repo and fused pokemon and things from Robin Hood: Men in Tights)

Alright, first off I'm going to just... show you this:

YES! This is my sketchbook with an entirely blank sketchbook added to it... because I filled up the first one and I'm not about to stop drawing before the deadline of my application (which is in two weeks). So now my sketchbook is about the size of my year-1 Russian book. Or about the size of the third Harry Potter Book. Or the size of the King James Bible. Take your pick.

I've also started a new Maya project, and hopefully I can get this FINISHED AND POLISHED before the deadline... because honestly, 3D is my biggest weakness right now. AND THAT CAN'T BE.

Alright, now for some Men in Tights. Just... Men in Tights.

Aaaaannnnd Repo! The Genetic Opera. If you haven't seen this movie... be warned. It's a little out there, and more than a little graphic. Great music, though.

And if YOU PEOPLE OF THE 90'S (and now I suppose also) don't know what these are... I've gone ahead and fused pokemon together. And created new ones. My favorite is the Caterdash.

And some studies done in my favorite coffee shop, The Coffee Pod.

End of Semester Sketches

SO with the end of this semester, comes some serious work ahead of me--I'll be working at my job at BYUtv close to full-time while trying to keep up on my portfolio to apply to the animation major in June. SCARY SCARY. But, as this is an art blog, have some art.

Of Dinosaurs and Party Elves

So I know it's not kosher to put two posts up in one day, but I felt bad for not having anything decent on the first whatsits. So here, have some sketches and a project.

Church history project--I decided to do a portrait of Joseph Smith. I'm pretty proud of it, done with conte crayon and charcoal on newsprint.
